Losing weight may give you a body that is more toned, better looking and you might also feel more confident in yourself. However, there is a downside of losing weight too frequently or suddenly, which are the pesky stretch marks. Stretch marks also known as striae distensae or striae gravidarum, appear like the indented streaks on the surface of your skin. These stretch marks may appear to be of varying colours such as red, purple, or silver in appearance. Stretch marks most commonly appear on chest, hips, stomach, bottom, and thighs. These are quite common in pregnancy, but you can develop #stretch_marks later in your life when you lose or gain weight suddenly. Some people, however, are more likely to have them. They are usually the tears on the skin, which do not indicate any health issue. Stretch marks can, however, be aesthetically unpleasing.
