Oculus Users Required to Sign In via Facebook In October

Oculus has recently announced that its devices will require a Facebook log in starting October 2020.

Facebook says that the change will make it easier for Oculus users to connect, find and play with friends. For those who have an Oculus account, they can still use it to log in until January of 2023.

The Oculus Quest has become a sleeper hit, and Facebook has already made mention of its sequel which is expected to launch October 13.

The social media giant addressed concerns regarding the platform’s privacy by saying that the integration allows them to provide better safety protective measures especially for young people.

Oculus Quest 2 is touted as the next gen all-in-one VR with new Touch controllers, a redesigned shell and a higher resolution display. Prices start at $299, which is $100 less than the original price of the Quest 1. Preorders for the Quest 2 are currently open.
